Tony Abbott's daughter, Frances, welcomes first child with husband Sam Loch

Frances Loch, the daughter of former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, has given birth to her first child.

The fitness instructor, 29, gave birth to son Ernest Loch on July 11.

"Ernest Loch - Born on his Due Date, July 11," her husband, Sam Loch, announced via Instagram. "Tipping the scales at an even 9lb. Brought into existence by his mum with nothing but breathing, coconut water and heart."

Frances revealed her pregnancy news back in January, debuting her baby bump in a black and white social media post. "BIG LITTLE BABY LOCH 🌱 Joining the party Summer '21," she wrote.

The pair have two anniversary dates, given they had two weddings in 2018. They first held a civil ceremony on Valentine's Day that year before tying the knot again on April 29 in front of family and friends in a casual soiree on Sydney's Palm Beach, where the entire wedding party wore Adidas slides.

Their first wedding came three months after she met the bodybuilder in November 2017 — they got engaged two weeks later.

"Two weeks was all it took to know that forever with you was a mighty fine idea," Frances shared in her anniversary post last year.

In an interview with Stellar magazine at the time, Frances opened up about the surprise engagement, which occurred while she was putting a bag of peas in the freezer.

"He said, 'Why aren't you asking me why I'm holding champagne?' So I said, 'OK... why are you holding champagne?' He said, 'Well, I thought we could drink it after I asked you to marry me,'" she recalled.

Frances is the second daughter of Abbott's three girls and is currently living in Portland, Oregon with her husband who works for the multinational sports giant Adidas. The former bikini competitor's newborn is Abbott's first grandchild — officially making him a grandfather.

Abbott shares two other daughters, Bridget and Louise, with wife Margaret.
