The new Yellow Wiggle just met the original Yellow Wiggle

It's been a big week for the Yellow Wiggles!

After the retirement of Emma Watkins as the Yellow Wiggle and Tsehay Hawkins being named the new Yellow Wiggle, Original Yellow Wiggle Greg Page has given Hawkins a warm welcome. (Have we said Yellow Wiggle enough times yet?)

"The OG Yellow Wiggle meets the newest Yellow Wiggle! Talk about a historic moment," shared The Wiggles on their official Instagram page, with Page, 49, and Hawkins doing their signature Wiggle Fingers.

Watkins, 32, revealed on Tuesday that she would be departing the children's group at the end of the year.

"After 11 years of performing with The Wiggles, and nine of those as the Yellow Wiggle, the time has come for me to pass the yellow skivvy on," she said.

"Like many people around the world, the pandemic has given me time to reflect on what is important in life. For me, that means spending more time at home, something that I didn't realise I was missing out on being away eight months of the year on tour, but something that I have really cherished over the last 18 months."

Only 16 years old, Hawkins will don the yellow skivvy as Watkins says goodbye to the iconic children's group at the end of the year.

"I am overjoyed. It is going to be an amazing experience and I am so grateful I have this opportunity to inspire young kids," Hawkins told Today.
