Mighty Ducks star back on ice hockey rink for the first time in 30 years

The Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss has returned to the ice hockey rink after three decades. 

'Goldie' is back, and fans couldn't be happier with the news Weiss announced via Instagram. 

Wearing a Ducks jersey and hockey gear, the actor, who played Greg Goldberg in the hit movie franchise, wrote a heartfelt caption alongside three photos of himself.

"Last time I skated was the final day of filming D3," the caption began.  

"It's like riding a bike. With bones that have aged 30 years. 🤷. Such a blast working on promos for FunkAway. Thanks for giving me a reason to lace up. 🤑."

A youth ice hockey team's goalie, Goldie was originally a lazy character who developed into an essential member of the Mighty Ducks.

After his time in the successful films, Weiss underwent a public battle with addiction as his career plateaued.

In 2022, the former child actor celebrated two years of sobriety after a slew of run-ins with the law. The news came four years after one of his mugshots went viral.

He was arrested for public intoxication in August 2018. A year prior, he was sentenced to 90 days in a county jail for possession of suspected meth and 150 days behind bars for shoplifting at an electronics store.

Weiss' rep told Page Six at the time, "He has hit his bottom. Hopefully, he will stay clean and sober when he gets out."

At the height of his addiction, Weiss was arrested in 2020 for breaking into a man's home; his mugshot received international attention.
