Matty Healy's mother takes a swipe at Taylor Swift: 'Not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost'

Ouch! We might hear about this in Taylor Swift's new album.

Matty Healy's mother, Denise Welch, 67, has taken a swipe at her son's ex, Taylor Swift, 35.

During an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week the British actress turned TV presenter said she's glad the pair split after a short romance.

She was asked by Cohen about the pop star's album, The Tortured Poets Department when she issued a scathing reply.

"Miss Swift wrote a whole album about their relationship, The Tortured Poets Department, what was your reaction to that album?" Cohen asked.

"Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost," Welch, who was once in soap Coronation Street and now appears on UK panel show, Loose Woman said.

"Not that I have anything against her at all. It was just, it was tricky."

She went on to drop some hints about their three month relationship.

"Listen, you're not allowed to say anything and then she writes a whole album about it," she said, adding Healy took it ''in completely good grace" and they have "moved on".

Swift and musician Healy dated for approximately three months after she split from actor Joe Alwyn, but they actually sparked dating rumours in 2014.

Now, the Cruel Summer hitmaker is with NFL star Travis Kelce, while Healy is with model and actress Gabbriette Bechtel.

Just this week Kelce made their romance Instagram official despite dating since 2023.

"Had some adventures this offseason, kept it 💯," he captioned the 13 slide post - in a possible nod to her favourite lucky number, 13.
