Tate McRae details jet ski accident with The Kid LAROI: 'We nearly just landed in a whale's mouth'

Tate McRae has revealed she and boyfriend The Kid LAROI were in a jet ski accident during a recent holiday.

Speaking with Capital Radio host Jimmy Hill, McRae said the two singers, both 21, were "nearly eaten by a whale"

"There was a quite scary accident you had over the summer on a jet ski with your boyfriend, The Kid LAROI. You fell off and nearly got eaten by a whale or something?" Hill began.

"Have you banned him from driving any sort of vehicle now? Is he a bit of a liability?"

McRae responded, "Well, now I do. I didn't realise what I was getting myself into!"

"You know, you have trust in your boyfriend, but also jet skis are the worst! They flip over every two seconds," she continued.

"So, you're on it together, he flips it, was the whale right by you?" Hill asked.

"It was like 10 feet away. It was the big moment of our trip. I was like, 'We nearly just landed in a whale's mouth!'" McRae responded.

"The ocean is just a really freaky thing to me, you're just in there and it's black and your toes are dangling and that's so weird.

"I got that feeling when we fell in the water and you're just tingling at the bottom of your feet and you're like, 'We could die right now!'"

Hill joked, "You could just get eaten by a whale, what a way to go!"

McRae and LAROI are in Australia on their respective world tours.

The pair have been romantically tied since earlier this year, with fans uncovering their relationship through a series of cryptic moments.

The Canadian pop star and the Australian singer only confirmed they were seeing each other when rumours of their dalliance reached fever pitch.

After months of speculation, fans finally got an answer when LAROI told them on-stage that his "girlfriend" had accompanied him to the show in Dublin.

McRae was hiding behind the scenes, but fans finally knew they were dating and have been inseparable ever since.
