Tanya Roberts' partner was informed the actress was still alive in an interview just hours after he and her rep announced that she had died.

The bizarre series of events began on Sunday when Roberts' rep, Mike Pingel, issued a press release stating that Roberts had died aged 65 the day before. The former Bond girl was taken to hospital after she collapsed on Christmas Eve after returning home from a walk with her dogs.

Initial reports said she was put on a ventilator but "never recovered" and died January 3.

Roberts' representative had released a statement in which O'Brien had said, "As I held her in her last moments, she opened her eyes. I was able to see her beautiful eyes one last time. Tanya had the most beautiful eyes."

Pingel said Lance "truly believed" that the actress had died.
