Tammin Sursok's dog passes away after brutal coyote attack

Tammin Sursok's dog, Tiger, suffered from a fatal attack over the weekend, leaving the Pretty Little Liars star heartbroken.

The 35-year-old actress mourned her pet in a series of Instagram snaps which included an adorable one with her "angel" of "13 years."

"Rest well my angel, I will always love you," captioned the Home and Away alumni of the sweet throwback photo with her four-legged friend.

"13 years together. My first born. Hug the ones you love tightly tonight. It's all so fleeting."

Keeping fans in the loop as the horrors of the incident unfolded, Sursok revealed that Tiger had been attacked by a coyote.

"My dog was taken by a coyote tonight. When we got to him he was gone. By some grace of God when we got to the hospital he was breathing. He is in the hospital and in surgery."

Several hours later, the South African born Australian actress checked back in to explain the horrific state her dad found him in, revealing some pretty graphic and gruesome details.

"My dad found our dog lifeless, no vitals, eyes open, legs ripped -- did mouth to mouth and he was completely gone no vitals."

She added, "The coyote tore his insides so he was filling up with tons of blood."

Praying that the vet would be able to save her beloved pet pooch, Sursok went on to divulge Tiger's critical condition after they had been able to find a faint heartbeat and rush him to surgery.

"They took out half the liver and the kidney. He's completely critical but out of surgery -- not sure if he will wake or not. Seems like a miracle if he pulls through this. Please keep us in your prayers."

Three hours later, the grief-stricken star let her fans know that sadly, Tiger didn't make it.

The death of her dog was no doubt a huge shock to The Young and the Restless actress who is heavily pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Sean McEwan.

"He fought so hard. But he didn't make it. Thank you for the love. We are pretty raw."
