Stephen Fry announces his marriage to Elliott Spencer on Twitter
Just married! Twitter/Stephen Fry
Well that was a short one.
Just two weeks after announcing their engagement, The Hobbit star Stephen Fry, 57, and comedian Elliott Spencer, 27, have officially tied the knot in Dereham, England. The actor shared the happy news today on Twitter.
"Gosh. @ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing," he tweeted.
And we thought Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden's engagement was brief.
Actor Hugh Laurie was among the pals who tweeted best wishes.
"Bloody hell it's happened! @ElliottGSpencer has made an honest man of m'col. Love and happiness to all!!," he wrote.
The wedding appears to have been a rather low-key civil ceremony, witnessed, in the tweeted words of Stephen, "by a mini Oscar Wilde".
Erm, what?...why?
"Because one should," Stephen tweeted.
Got it. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
