Stanley Tucci says the death of his late wife Kate is 'still hard'

Stanely Tucci is opening up about the death of his first wife, Kate Tucci, who died in 2009 of breast cancer at the age of 47.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Supernova actor told Australian journalist Holly Williams that he still grieves the loss of Kate, a social worker and the mother of his three eldest children.

"You never stop grieving," Tucci said yesterday. "It's still hard after 11 years. It's still hard. And it will always be hard. But you can't let it... and she would never want any of us to ever wallow in that grief and let it take over our lives. She would never want that. She wasn't like that."

During their marriage, which began in 1995, the couple welcomed twins Nicolo and Isabel, now 21, and daughter Camilla, now 19. Kate also had two children from a previous marriage.

A year after Kate died, Tucci was at his Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt's 2010 wedding to John Krasinski.

Blunt introduced Tucci to her sister, English literary agent Felicity Blunt, and the pair began dating. They were engaged the following year and eventually married in 2012. The couple welcomed son Matteo Oliver, six, in 2015 and daughter Emilia Giovanna, two, in 2018.
