Sofia Richie and Jaden Smith 'loved hanging out' on beach date: 'They kept flirting and hugging'

Could love be in the air for Sofia Richie and Jaden Smith?

Richie, 22, and Smith, 22, were photographed on a beach date where they were holding hands in the water and cuddling on a Los Angeles beach.

"Sofia is having a fun summer," a source told People. "She stays with friends in Malibu and enjoys the beach. There have been guys around that she acted flirty with, but she doesn't seem to be dating."

The insider claimed she had a different attitude when she was spending time with Smith.

"The vibe was different over the weekend though when she hung out with Jaden," the source adds. "They spent hours together on the beach. They kept flirting and hugging. Sofia looked very happy."

They were later seen having dinner at Nobu.

"It was obvious that they both loved hanging out. Jaden had his arm around Sofia and she had a huge smile."

The outing comes after Richie split from Scott Disick, 37, after a three-year relationship in May. In July, the pair briefly reunited but appeared to split again the following month.

"Scott and Sofia are spending time apart," a source confirmed to Us Weekly. "She is making it a point to do her own thing."

Disick shares three kids, sons Mason, 10 and Reign, five and daughter Penelope, eight, with his ex Kourtney Kardashian, 40.

Smith, who is the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, had a brief romance with Richie as teenagers. But their romance petered out in 2013.
