Simone Biles returns to hospital just weeks after she ‘almost died’
Legendary sportswoman Simone Biles has been back in hospital just weeks after revealing she “almost died” during a frightening health scare that left her bedridden.
The seven-time American Olympic gold medallist shared a black-and-white photo to Instagram, showing herself in scrubs alongside her husband Jonathan Owens, who accompanied her to the “procedure” on his birthday.

“His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure,” Biles, 29, wrote alongside a series of emojis.
“I woke up singing bossman dlow ‘talk my s--t’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” she added.
The sporting star did not say what procedure she underwent or whether it was connected to the mysterious medical emergency she shared in June.
At the time, Biles shocked her 11.8 million followers by saying she had almost died earlier that week, describing it as one of the most terrifying experiences she’d ever faced.
“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” she wrote on Instagram.
“But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”
She also revealed Owens was away with the Indianapolis Colts when the incident occurred, making the situation even more frightening.

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” she confessed.
“I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers,” Biles continued on her Instagram Stories. “Loooovveeee y’all.”
Despite ongoing concern from fans, Biles has yet to open up about what happened.
When one follower later commented asking what had happened, the decorated gymnast replied: “Not ready to talk about it just yet.”
Earlier this month, Biles and Owens walked the red carpet together at the 2026 ESPYS in New York, celebrating the year’s biggest sporting achievements.
The gold medallist and Owens also went to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding earlier this month.

Biles detailed the night out on her Instagram Story, writing, “recapping NY because I can’t believe this is my life,” adding, “& no I’m not ‘lucky,’ I’m blessed.”
Biles and Owens met on the celeb dating app Raya in March 2020, before launching their relationship on social media in August of the same year. The football player proposed on Valentine’s Day two years later.
The athletes married in a civil ceremony in April 2023 before walking down the aisle in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, one month later.
