Sharon Stone mourns death of nephew River, 11 months, who died from 'total organ failure'

Sharon Stone is mourning the death of her 11-month-old nephew and godson after he tragically died following organ failure.

The 63-year-old actress shared a heartbreaking tribute to little River on Instagram yesterday, in which the clip featured home videos of her nephew as Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven' played in the background.

"River William Stone September 8, 2020 - Aug. 30, 2021," the actress captioned the movie tribute.

It was just three days ago that the Basic Instinct star first revealed River's health condition, asking for prayers from her followers on Instagram. 

"My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today. Please pray for him. We need a miracle🤍💥🙏" she wrote on August 27 alongside a photo of River intubated with tubes and wires attached to his body.

Following news of River's death, Stone was inundated with comments from both her followers and famous friends, who each expressed their condolences. 

"Ugh. I'm sitting here in tears. I'm so sorry, Sharon. What a beautiful boy. Sending all my love to you and your family. ❤️😢," wrote Will & Grace star Sean Hayes.

Leslie Jordan, who also starred on Will & Grace, wrote: "This breaks my heart. I'm in pieces right now."

Meanwhile, Selma Blair commented, "I am so sorry. My lord" and Andie Macdowell was also heartbroken, writing: "😢😢😢 I'm so sorry lord."

More tributes flowed for River, with Angie Harmon commenting, "No. Sharon, I'm so so sorry. Oh my Lord… we are praying for all of you."

Debra Messing also expressed her grief: "Noooooooooooooo. I am in disbelief. Oh Sharon, there are no words, other than I'm so sorry for your whole family's loss. I am praying for all of you at this unimaginable time."
