Succession star Sarah Snook to make her Broadway debut

Australian actress Sarah Snook will make her Broadway debut next year.

The Succession star will transfer her hugely successful West End show The Picture of Dorian Gray across from London to New York for a limited run kicking off in March 2025.

"It was a singular privilege to bring The Picture of Dorian Gray to life in London and I am thrilled we will be able to share this astonishing production with audiences in New York," Snook said in the announcement on Wednesday night.

The role, which earned Snook the prestigious Best Actress Olivier Award in the UK, involves playing 26 characters in essentially a one-woman-play that turns the traditional tale on its head.

"From Oscar Wilde's timeless words to the masterful reinterpretation Kip Williams has created, this tale of virtue, corruption, vanity and repercussion is an electrifying journey for me as much as for the audiences and I am filled with anticipation as we continue on this ambitious creative endeavour," Snook said.

The Broadway show sees the star re-team with Aussie director Williams, who is the artistic director and co-CEO of Sydney Theatre Company.

Williams said he was thrilled to be working with the actress again.

"I am so excited for audiences in New York to experience our show and to see the tour-de-force performance Sarah Snook gives in bringing to life the many characters in this new adaptation of Wilde's remarkable story," he said.

Snook is perhaps best known to audiences for her role as Shiv Roy across four seasons of Succession.

The Adelaide-born actress won an Emmy Award, Golden Globe and Critic's Choice awards earlier this year for the turn in the final season of the hit drama series.

With any luck, Snook can add a Tony Award to her collection next.
