Oscars 2016: Sacha Baron Cohen revives Ali G alter ego to be Academy Awards' 'token black presenter'

It wouldn't be a Sacha Baron Cohen-attended awards show without one of his eclectic characters tagging along for the ride.

Forgoing the obvious choice of playing Nobby from his new spy action comedy film Grimsby, the comedian brought his classic Brit-thug character Ali G back to life as he presented alongside Olivia Wilde.

Not letting his co-presenter get a word in, he riffed on the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, counting himself as another "token black presenter", before telling Olivia "You is well fit" and making inappropriate jokes about Minions. Check out the hilarious moment, above.

Despite his penchant for walking the red carpet in character, the 44-year-old arrived to the awards dressed as himself in a tux, arm in arm with his Aussie wife Isla Fisher, 40.
