Renée Zellweger 'not engaged' to boyfriend Ant Anstead, despite previous reports

Bridget Jones star Renée Zellweger is not engaged to her boyfriend of two years, English TV presenter Ant Anstead, despite earlier reports which claimed the actress was planning her nuptials.

People confirms that the pair are not engaged after a source told the US Sun the couple had started telling friends about their wedding plans.

"Renee and Ant are keeping their plans incredibly private, they're not planning a big public announcement," the source told the publication.

"She has been telling her inner circle about organising their nuptials, everything will be very low-key.

"Her relationship with Ant is super strong and they're madly in love, and they can't wait to get hitched."

Zellweger, 54, and Anstead, 44, have been solid for two years, beginning their relationship in June 2021, having met while filming Anstead's Discovery+ show Celebrity IOU Joyride.

The actress previously dated musician Doyle Bramhall II from 2012 to 2019 after ending her marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney in 2005. She has also been linked to fellow celebrities such as Jim Carrey, Bradley Cooper and Jack White.

Anstead divorced from his wife of three years Christina Hall in 2021, after welcoming their child Hudson in 2019

Before that, he married to his first wife, Louise, from 2005 until 2017, during which time they welcomed daughter Amelie and son Archie, with whom Zellweger recently posed with in a picture, which fuelled rumours that the couple are making their relationship more official.

The family scrubbed up nicely to attend a formal event together, with Anstead and son Archie looking dapper in tuxedos. Zellweger stood out in a sparkly gold, one-shoulder dress, while daughter Amelie wore a slinky black number.

They foursome danced the night away, with Anstead sharing blurry photos from the dancefloor onto Instagram.
