Pete Davidson's lawyers considering legal action over false press release that claims he's married

Pete Davidson's legal team has been forced to issue a statement after a press release from a production company claimed he got married.

On Tuesday, "experiential and digital entertainment group" Bodega Cats Presents, LLC sent out a press release claiming he would be joining the company as co-founder and co-CEO alongside his childhood friend Michelle Mootreddy.

The press release also seemingly revealed that Mootreddy was the SNL star's spouse.

According to the fake production company's website, Mootreddy — who uses pronouns they/them — claims the pair graduated from the University of Rochester in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in political science.

"The press release being circulated this morning about Pete Davidson is completely false," Davidson's lawyer wrote in a statement on Tuesday. "Not a word of it is true. Mr Davidson has no idea who this person is. We are investigating and considering all legal and equitable remedies."

Davidson, who was previously engaged to Ariana Grande for five months in 2018, has been the centre of speculation about his romantic life for some time; he's been casually dating since their split and linked to stars like Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, and Kaia Gerber.

In the November 2019 cover story for Paper, Davidson briefly opened up about his whirlwind relationship with Grande, saying that he doesn't usually "make public statements about relationships 'cause I just don't think it's right".

"I hope she's well," he added. "I hope she's very happy. And that's pretty much it."
