Paris Hilton reveals the unique inspiration behind her daughter's name

Paris Hilton has shared the unique inspiration behind her daughter's name. 

The heiress and her husband, Carter Reum, share two children: Phoenix Barron, one and eight-month-old London. 

In a rare video of the mother-daughter-duo, Hilton explained the origins of her "little princess's" name.

"London Hilton at The London Hilton✨👶🏼🏨✨So in love with my little Princess! 👑," the model wrote to her 26.5 million Instagram followers. 

"Bringing her to the city she's named after for the first time is a dream come true! 🥹 I've spent every summer at this hotel since I was a baby, and now I get to share this special family tradition with my daughter, London," Hilton continued before elaborating.

"Named after my favourite city in the world! 🥰 Can't wait to make new memories together at my favourite @Hilton in #London". 

Like her daughter, Paris was named after her parents, Kathy and Richard Hilton's favourite city in the world. 

In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022, Hilton revealed she had planned to name her first baby London, explaining the back story. 

"The girl is gonna be named London Marilyn Hilton Reum," she said.

"Marilyn after my grandmother and London because it's my favourite city, and I think Paris and London sound cute together."

In a February episode of her podcast, This Is Paris, the mother of two also shared the inspiration behind her son Phoenix's name. 

"Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more importantly, it's the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again.

"I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future."

Hilton added that Phoenix's middle name, Barron, was a tribute to her late grandfather: "He was always my mentor.

"I looked up to my grandfather so much, and we were so close, and I miss him every day. So, I really wanted to honour him by having his name in my first son's name."
