Sport power couple Sophia Smith and Michael Wilson tie the knot in stunning desert wedding
American Olympic soccer player Sophia Smith has struck gold in her personal life.
The gold medalist has married her longtime partner, NFL star Michael Wilson.
The newlyweds, who have been dating since 2019, shared the major relationship update in a joint post to Instagram with pictures of them in a desert.

"The Wilsons 🤍" Smith simply captioned the stunning photos, taken among the cacti.
Smith looked beautiful in a silky white dress with rouleau loops all down the back.
Her shoes were adorned with pearls, matching her earrings and the pearly details on the sheer sleeves of her gown.
For a traditional twist, Smith wore a veil in hair, which was left out in loose curls.

Smith plays for the Portland Thorns FC and was part of the American women's national team who took home gold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Meanwhile Wilson, who is a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, suited up in black with a bowtie over a white dress dress.
The post was inundated with messages congratulating the couple – including from many of Smith's teammates.
Smith and Wilson's wedding news comes less than a year after they got engaged.
The couple announced their engagement with a romantic photoshoot in June 2024.

"Forever always meant with you. 🤍" Smith captioned the joint post on Instagram.
"More moments from my favorite day. I can't wait to marry my best friend 🌸🌷💐🤍" she wrote in a follow-up post with more photos from their engagement.
The athletes met in their first-year attending Stanford University.
They began dating in 2019.

In January 2024, Wilson marked the pair's five-year anniversary with a sweet post.
"5 years with you 🖤🤞🏽," he captioned a selfie and photo of them walking hand-in-hand with Smith wearing his jersey.
