Olivia Newton-John's family hold 'very private' memorial service one month after her death

The family of Olivia Newton-John reportedly held a private memorial service last week, one month after the actress and singer lost her battle with breast cancer. 

A representative for the family told Us Weekly that Newton-John's loved ones, including husband John Easterling and daughter Chloe Lattanzi gathered to remember the life and times of the Aussie star. 

"There was a small and very private family gathering in California last week to celebrate Olivia," the rep told the outlet. "The family prefers to keep the details of the event private at this time."

This week, her daughter Lattanzi, 36, and niece Tottie Goldsmith, 60, also vowed to continue Newton-John's mission by going ahead with the Grease star's annual Walk for Wellness on October 9. 

The event will raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia. This year's event will be a virtual walk so people from all over the world can join in.

"We really want to raise awareness and get as many of you walking with us or virtually. It is so important to raise awareness and raise funds," Lattanzi said in the clip.

"My mum's dream was for kinder treatments for cancer. So I feel the torch has been passed and this is my mission and my passion and I'm so grateful to be doing this with my beautiful cousin for my mother."

Appearing in the video, Goldsmith – whose mum, Rona, is Newton-John's sister – praised her younger cousin for "taking over the shining light of her mum".

"I want to continue to carry the torch for my mama," Lattanzi explained in her caption posted to Instagram. "Her dream was for kinder holistic treatments for cancer, and to finally put an end to all the suffering cancer causes for countless beings around the planet. Please walk with us this year for my mama."

"I love you mama. I miss you every day," she added. "And I feel you wrapped around me every moment guiding my every move."
