Keith Urban 's awkward one-word response to Nicole Kidman praise could have clued us in months ago

An awkward moment has resurfaced from a Keith Urban interview held two months ago that shines light on his sudden split from wife Nicole Kidman.

In an interview for On Air with Ryan Seacrest in July, the TV host gushed about Kidman's string of success to Urban.

"Do people tell you your wife is in everything? Like everything. Nicole Kidman is in everything," Seacrest told Urban, 57, about his wife, 58.

The country singer laughed and joked, "She's almost as busy as you, buy not quite. Very close," even gesturing with his fingers.

Seacrest, 50, then went on to ask, "Is that something with your life, her life and mapping it all out with production and touring – that's a job, isn't it?"

The Grammy winner paused and dragged out his answer, "It's a job. Yeah... Life is in session."

Seacrest pressed on, telling the Somebody Like You singer, "I think that people know that you do take great pride in – even though you're busy – making time with each other, which is why you've been together 19, 20 years?'

Urban's reaction was a simple yet telling, "Mhm. Yeah".

Internet sleuths filled the comment sections, with one noting the interview was, "very uncomfortable with the Nicole discussion."

Another added, "You can see it in his eyes that the separation was already in process during this interview. He didn't elaborate on anything pertaining to Nicole. And his eyes and face looked sad."

In fact, this interview was held just one month before Urban signed a parenting plan with Kidman in regard to their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

When the Babygirl actress filed for divorce yesterday, court documents also showed the couple's custody arrangement and parenting plan, with Kidman's signature dated on September 6, while Urban's was dated August 29.

Rumours of the end of their 19-year-long marriage broke on Tuesday, September 30, with the Oscar-award winner filing for divorce on Wednesday, October 1.
