Heather Morris pays tribute to Glee co-star Naya Rivera on the fourth anniversary of her death: 'You're missed so much'

It's been four years since Glee star Naya Rivera's tragic death at the age of 33.

On Tuesday (Monday in the US), her late Glee co-star and close friend Heather Morris paid tribute to Rivera on the anniversary of her death.

Underneath a candid black and white throwback image of the pair together, Morris, 37, said how much she "misses" Rivera and how much her 2020 death "still hurts".

In a heartbreaking tribute, she wrote: "I can't believe it's been 4 years... boy how time flies. Yet every year I'm taken by surprise how much it still hurts."

"We grow up together, fell apart, and came back together in such a beautiful way. God you're missed so much… except I can't shake the feeling you never left…

"You're still here with us.. guiding us to our highest potential. I miss you Nay Nay."

"Your words are perfect," one follower commented underneath.

Rivera was best known for playing cheerleader Santana Lopez on Glee, while Morris portrayed Brittany S. Pierce on the show.

In 2020, Rivera drowned in a strong current on a lake in California, Lake Piru, while boating with her son Josey, who she saved.

Last year, her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey shared a tribute to Rivera said he and their son were "doing the best they can" without her.

"A little easier with each little bit of time that passes by to look at pictures…but I still don't have the answers to the questions to the why's our sweet boy asks from time to time. I never will," he wrote.

He added in part of his post: "Doing the best we can.🕊️🦋Fly high 🦋🕊️."
