Kesha hits back at body shamers with empowering message: 'I am so proud of my body'

American singer Kesha has shared an empowering message with fans about body-positivity and has hit back at critics.

In a post aimed at body-shamers, the TiK ToK singer, 37, said she's "proud of her body" and told women "to not tear other women down".

Underneath snaps of herself at the beach, Kesha wrote: "I didn't think in 2024 people still body shamed but I am so proud of my body."

"She's been through a lot. She's torn her acl on stage and finished the show. She's held my f--king broken heart together.

"To those who think you're shaming me, you're actually making me feel very powerful."

"So, to you, I hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down. In the mean time, hate me harder bitch :) 💪🏻," she added.

Underneath the post, she received support from followers and fans, including from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, who wrote: "So beautiful inside and out."

Kesha has been open with her battle with an eating disorder in the past, telling Self about having bulimia: "It was taking up so much of my brain space, from morning to night."

"I was obsessed with what I looked like, what went in my mouth, what size things were, and people's approval," she said.

This month, Kesha made a return to music by releasing her new single, Joyride. Her most recent album, Gag Order, came out in May 2023.

She is also set to perform at Lollapalooza festival in August.

Kesha recently made an appearance at Coachella, performing with Reneé Rap during her set.
