Natalie Portman addresses speculation over husband's alleged affair in single sentence

Natalie Portman is emphatically not stoking speculation surrounding her marriage to Benjamin Millepied.

The May December actress did give a rare comment about her personal life to Vanity Fair for its 30th annual Hollywood issue, but it was very much to shut down any discussion about the French choreographer, whom she married in 2012.

"It's terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it," the 42-year-old Oscar winner told the publication when asked about the period leading up to May December's release, when allegations Millepied had an extramarital affair were published by French outlet Voici.

The interviewer then admitted they "don't love asking about it, either," to which Portman replied, "I can imagine."

Portman then went on to discuss her life in Paris and Los Angeles, where she lives "a very non-Hollywood" lifestyle.

The Harvard University alum first met Millepied, 46, when he was recruited to train Portman in ballet for Black Swan, a performance that saw Portman named Best Actress at the Oscars.

By the time filming wrapped, they were dating, and they went on to welcome their son Aleph in 2011 while engaged.

They married in California in 2012, and welcomed daughter Amalia in 2017.

A source claimed to People in June 2023 that Millepied "knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together."

They further claimed the alleged affair was "short-lived and it is over."

Neither Portman nor Millepied have publicly addressed his alleged extramarital affair outright, nor have they spoken on rumours of their alleged separation.
