Naomi Watts mourns the loss of her dog Bob: '20 years of love'

Naomi Watts is mourning the loss of her beloved pet.

The Penguin Bloom star, 52, announced via Instagram on Wednesday her 20-year-old Yorkshire terrier, Bob, had died. The actress paid tribute to the pooch with a heartfelt message.

"My Darling Bob. What an honor to have had you in our lives," she captioned her post. "You'll be living on in my heart and soul forever. Rest In Peace. 20 years of love. Godspeed! 😥💔 #legend #wingman."

Watts adopted the Yorkshire terrier back in 2002, and according to Daily Paws, the breed only live between an average of 11 and 15 years.

The Twin Peaks actress also had Bob when she dated Heath Ledger from 2002 to 2004 — she owned him together with Ned, a Cocker Spaniel named after Ned Kelly.

Earlier this year, Watts revealed she adopted a puppy named Izzy because she was struggling emotionally during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Loudest Voice actress also recently reunited with her mother Myfanwy — aka Miv — whom she had not been able to see for more than a year due to the pandemic.

"Like for so many, the last year has been a time filled with anxiety and loneliness," she captioned her post in May, adding that her mother had spent most of lockdown by herself.

"With the help of her neighbours (our dear friends), we managed to pull off a surprise reunion. I hadn't seen her for over a year. Happy Mother's Day to all...I love you Mum."

In the video, Miv is heard yelling, "Oh my God! It's my family!" before giving Watts a huge embrace along with the star's two children, Sasha, 13, and Kai, 12 — whose father is actor Liev Schreiber.
