Morgan Freeman has one of the most famous voices in the world. It's featured in hundreds of voiceovers, been imitated by a thousand YouTube impressionists, and even the thought of it is enough to soothe you through the darkest days of your life.

And now the Hollywood legend has finally allowed us to hear how his voice sounds on helium. (Spoiler alert: it sounds hilarious).

The best part of this video, aside from hearing Freeman's calming baritone transformed into squeakiness, is that you can pretend you're watching it for science. The Academy Award winner inhaled helium to promote the upcoming season of his science series Through the Wormhole, which explores "the questions that have puzzled mankind for eternity".
