Miranda Kerr gushes about 'amazing' Katy Perry as singer returns to work after birth of first baby with Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry has returned to work two months after the birth of her first child, Daisy Dove, with fiancé Orlando Bloom — and the actor's ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, was one of the first to praise the singer. 

The 35-year-old popstar reported for duty on the set of American Idol and pulled out all the fashion stops in a cow-print ensemble as she took her post alongside fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

"MUTHA MILKS is back to werk @americanidol and it's udderly ridiculously MOO-ving already!" Perry cleverly captioned the photo. "Not pictured: my pumping breaks (shout out to @csiriano for the incredible custom costume)."

Kerr — who is the mother of Bloom's eldest child, Flynn, nine — liked what she saw and commented on Perry's post.

"Omg you're amazing! Love you," the 37-year-old gushed. 

Since Bloom and Kerr divorced in 2013 after three years of marriage, they made it their mission to continue to get along for the sake of their son. Kerr has since married Evan Spiegel and welcomed two sons with the Snapchat CEO — Hart, two, and Myles, one — and together they're one big, happy blended family.

"We're a modern family," Kerr previously told People. "Orlando and I are literally like family, he's like a brother to me. It's very weird, but we really care for each other and we have a great relationship, so I feel very lucky."

Bloom is on the same page as his ex and together they put Flynn's needs first. 

"I always was like, 'Listen, we're gonna be in each other's lives for the rest of each other's lives," he said on The Howard Stern Show last year.

"We have a child. Let's [do] whatever it takes.'"
