Mindy Kaling's emotional message to daughter about Vice President Kamala Harris

Joe Biden is the new US President-elect, and celebrities have been celebrating and sharing messages of support since the news broke.

While many of their tweets are funny or celebratory, Mindy Kaling took a moment to share an emotional message for her daughter about the new Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris.

Along with side-by-side photos of Harris now and as a child, Mindy tweeted, "Crying and holding my daughter, 'look baby, she looks like us.'"

Harris is a biracial woman of Black and South Asian descent –– her mother was from India while her father was a Jamaican immigrant to America. Kaling was born in the US to parents who were originally from India.

The Office actress has two children, a two-year-old daughter named Kit and a newborn son, Spencer. She's never revealed the father of her children.

Kaling has previously lended her support to the Biden campaign, and even appeared in a video with Harris.

"I'm voting for my daughter Kit," she previously wrote on Instagram. "I want her to grow up with leaders who think and speak with integrity."

Kaling and Harris filmed a video together titled "Signs You Grew Up Indian in America," shared to the actress' Instagram.

Earlier this week, Kaling posted a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt that read 'Vote For Aunty', with an illustration of Harris.
