Miley Cyrus unfollows exes Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter on Instagram

Miley Cyrus has taken it upon herself to unfollow two of her exes on social media.

Cyrus — who separated from her husband Liam Hemsworth in August, and split from Kaitlynn Carter shortly after — has elected to distance herself from both of them on Instagram.

Fans have scanned the list of accounts that Cyrus follows and picked up on the fact that Hemsworth and Carter are noticeably absent.

Hemsworth has also chosen to unfollow Cyrus. However, Carter still follows Cyrus.

The news comes on the back of Carter penning a letter for Elle where she admits to falling in love with Cyrus during their short-lived fling.

"This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her," Carter wrote. "It wasn't quite that simple, of course. But it also wasn't very complicated, either."

She continued: "Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realised that I've never really had a 'type.'"

Cyrus and Hemsworth announced the news of their split in August. Just one day after their breakup made headlines, Cyrus was seen kissing reality star Kaitlynn Carter while on vacation in Italy.

The 'Slide Away' singer has been dating Cody Simpson since early October after they were spotted sharing breakfast at a Los Angeles restaurant.

Simpson has gushed about his relationship with Cyrus and how their friendship evolved into something "romantic."

"Love is a big word, but it's romantic," Simpson revealed on The Kyle & Jackie 'O' Show recently.

"I used to kiss the TV screen when I was nine. We were interested in each other ever since we first met. Even when I was like 18, but it wasn't the right time."
