Miley Cyrus shares message about feeling 'lonely' as boyfriend Cody Simpson is seen with Playboy model

Miley Cyrus has posted a message about feeling lonely during the holidays just one day after boyfriend Cody Simpson was spotted with a Playboy model in New York.

Cyrus was nowhere to be seen when the Aussie singer strolled SoHo on Saturday with Jordy Murray — the same model who was crowned Playboy's December 2019 Playmate. Instead, it seems Cyrus was back in LA listening to Christmas songs when she stumbled across a track she released in 2017. 

"A sad Christmas song I wrote a few years back right before the holidays. Was feeling like s--- cause I couldn't be with the one I loved. Even with a house full of family and friends I still felt alone…" she tweeted on Sunday. 

In the song — which Cyrus also shared on Instagram — the 27-year-old sings, "Why'd I even put up that f---in' tree? If there's no one here that's gonna see. Just how pretty she looks on Christmas Eve. Cause there's no one here next to me."

Although the lyrics are heartbreaking, Cyrus ended her tweets on a positive note as she reassured fans that they could still shine bright even when alone for the holidays.

"In ways that still feels relevant and someone reading this right now could possibly relate! If you feel lonely this season just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC!" she tweeted. "You are as special as a snowflake , beautifully unique and I hope inside your soul feels light, hope , peace and joy knowing how singularly amazing YOU are!"

This will be Cyrus' first Christmas since her split from husband Liam Hemsworth. The pair broke up in August after eight months of marriage and a total of 10 years together.

Meanwhile, breakup rumours first surrounded the couple last month, when it was believed they had hit the brakes on their whirlwind romance after two months of dating. But a source told E! News at the time that the couple are "very happy together".

"She has a busy schedule and a lot of work commitments that have kept them apart. But when they are together there's no doubt they are crazy about each other," said the source.
