Resurfaced clip of Off Campus’ Mika Abdalla and her ex horrifies internet days after split

The moment Off Campus′ Mika Abdalla and former Disney Channel star Jake Short called off their engagement this week, internet sleuths started digging.
It didn’t take them long to discover something damning from a resurfaced podcast interview.

TikTok users discovered footage from a 2024 episode of The Sit and Chat podcast, which Short co-hosted with fellow Disney Channel alum Bradley Steven Perry, where both men brought their female partners on a guest stars.
One resurfaced clip caught the moment Perry asked Short how he would describe Abdalla, the woman he would later ask to be his wife.
“Some bitch,” he replied.
That two-word response left the whole room speechless.
Perry uttered a shocked “oh my god” and his now-wife Natasha Bure Perry couldn’t wipe the look of horror off her face.
Abdalla tried to push back against Short’s comment, pointing out that Perry had described his partner as “the best person he’s ever met”.
Short didn’t make any immediate apology for his comment, instead he urged Abdalla to high-five him, claiming they were “locked in” before Perry steered the uncomfortable conversation in a different direction.
The Sit and Chat podcast is no longer available on YouTube or Spotify.
It has not released a new episode since January 2025.

Women across social media have slammed Short’s comments on the podcast as “disgusting” and “cruel”.
Many also voiced shock that he would say it on a public platform like a podcast.
One commenter said that Short’s comments reminded her of an ex-boyfriend who would put her down in the same way.
“It actually destroyed me,” she said.
A representative for Abdalla confirmed on Wednesday that she and Short, who met in 2021 and got engaged in 2025, had called it quits.

“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” they told Us Weekly.
“They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”
Resurfaced clips aside, Abdalla’s future is looking bright.
She’s about to kick off filming for the second season of Off Campus, which will focus on her character’s budding romance with star hockey player and former ladies man Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn.
The two actors also recently recorded a steamy audio series for Quinn, an audio erotica platform known for working with all the internet’s favourite heartthrobs.
Rumours have even started to swirl that the co-stars may be more than friends.
But since Kayln appears to be happily engaged to his long-time partner Victoria Lovatsis, those rumours seem to be fiction rather than fact.
