Melissa McCarthy recalls being 'flipped off' for wearing an Adidas tracksuit to an Oscars after party
Not all celebrities appreciated Melissa McCarthy's outfit at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in 2019.
The Superintelligence actress, 50, looked back on walking the red carpet in an Adidas tracksuit with her husband Ben Falcone, telling InStyle it "threw everybody into a tizzy."
The comedian said the idea came to her the night before she attended the event.
"I asked, 'Can we wear matching tracksuits?' And someone was like, 'For tomorrow? Like, that both fit?' It's not that easy. I just wanted to be in tennies and tracksuits," McCarthy said. "It just seemed so funny to me and so comfortable."

However, the joke wasn't received well by all the guests at the fancy event.
"I have never been flipped off or told to f--k off as much as at that party, and it was all done, uh, jokingly, but also with something real behind it," she said of the other attendees.
"[After the ceremony] every one put on a different dress and different heels. They just totally were like, 'You go f--k yourself [for her wearing a tracksuit].' My response was, 'Oh, OK, I'm going to go dance pretty hard right now.'"
Prior to putting on her laidback attire, McCarthy got dressed up for the Academy Awards ceremony in a caped ensemble by Brandon Maxwell.

She recently told 9Honey Celebrity that she feels "really lucky" to be staying in Australia.
"We're working here together, so we're in a bubble which is why we can be elbow to elbow and still be safe," she said. "It's just been amazing, especially coming from the States. It's a tricky time there, but we're really grateful to be here. It's really beautiful, and I just love the people."
