'Married At First Sight' bride Ashley on being married to Troy: 'If you don't laugh, you cry'

Ashley Irvin is a shining delight on Season 5 of Married At First Sight. Despite being matched with a the image-obsessed and kissing-impaired Troy Delmege, the bubbly Brisbane flight attendant seems continuously amused at her plight.

Appearing on TODAY Extra alongside Delmege on February 15, Irvin explained to Ben Fordham and Sonia Kruger exactly how she handles their rocky union.

"If you don't laugh, you cry," she said with a smile and shrug. "You just go with it."

When asked by Fordham if the 35-year-old IT accounts manager drives her "nuts", she replied, "Sometimes we have some really good times. Other times… yeah, Troy's unique. I look at him like, how can I handle this?"

After Fordham called Delmege "a rare diamond", the conversation turned to his now-iconic hair – and his refusal to sheer his locks for 28-year-old Irvin during Yes Week on MAFS.

Seeing a prime opportunity, the TODAY Extra hosts pulled out a pair of scissors and proceeded to have "Morgan from the hairdressing department" come out and cut 1-inch off Delmege's side-swooped fringe.

Despite the groom's guffawing and protests, he allowed it to happen and said he did the teeny-tiny trim "for this girl", pointing to Irvin.
