Married At First Sight's Sharon Marsh and Nick Furphy break up: 'I'm not in love with him'

Sharon Marsh and Nick Furphy - Married At First Sight's last remaining season 4 couple - are no more.

"I love Nick, but after moving to Melbourne eight weeks ago to be with him, I soon realised I'm not in love with him," Sharon told New Idea.

"I've shed many tears over this because I really wanted it to work. I wanted the butterflies and roses -- but I also needed a deeper love."

The 32-year-old twin left her hometown of Perth to be with Melbourne-based Nick after the show.

"I told him I wanted to feel more," Sharon said of her decision to end things.

And Nick, 30, told the publication he was devastated by the news.

"It broke my heart. I started to shake and couldn't believe what I was hearing," he said. "I fell hard and fast and gave it my all. It has made me lose my faith in love a little bit."

In April, the duo revealed they'd gotten matching foot tattoos declaring their love. (Nick's reads "I heart SHAZ", while Sharon's spells "I heart Nick" in cursive.)

But after news of their split broke, Sharon took to Instagram to share a message about putting family first.

"Seems fitting at the moment," she wrote. "My niece & I bought a matching 'Protection in Life' necklace. Things dont always go the way you hope chick but in life you always have Family."

Earlier this year, Sharon and Nick spoke openly and optimistically about their future together.

"In nine months, there could be a little Furphy," Sharon gushed during a joint appearance with Nick on TODAY.

Their breakup comes after Simon McQuillian and Alene Khatcherian announced their breakup in May.

"It was a difficult decision but we have decided to part ways," the pair said in a joint statement to TheFIX. "We remain the greatest of friends and we will continue to be part of each others’ lives. We thank you for your privacy at this time."

Though many fans suspect they've since rekindled their love.

Sharon's twin, Michelle Marsh, ended things with her MAFS partner Jesse Konstantinoff during the show's final vow renewal ceremony. But she's since found love with Perth firefighter Adam Medwid.
