'Married At First Sight' 2019: Elizabeth responds to Sam cancelling the honeymoon

Elizabeth from Married At First Sight was left stunned when her groom Sam cancelled their honeymoon the morning after the wedding.

During Monday night's episode, Elizabeth woke up to learn Sam's ex-girlfriend's mother had passed away -- something she sympathised with.

But when he told her he would be flying overseas to attend the funeral, and didn't book a return flight, she became frustrated.

In an interview with 9Honey Celebrity this week, Elizabeth says she feels she was "robbed" of her honeymoon.

"He held me the night before and there was nothing to make me ever think that day or night that he was not interested," she says. "There was nothing he was showing me that would make me think he wasn't."

She says there was a phone call in the middle of the night, and that Sam asked her permission to take it.

"I said, 'Of course,' and then he walked out," she recalls. "When he came back, I said 'Are you OK, is everything alright?' and he was like, 'Oh that's so nice, but yeah I'm OK.'"

Elizabeth says it was a shock that he up and left, because he was being so affectionate with her.

"I woke up before Sam and I called my bridesmaid Beth and then I went back to bed and he was there holding my hand and saying 'Oh, your skin's so soft.'

"So it was a shock and my bridesmaid can vouch for this 'cause she was on the phone."
