Now, a passionate Wahlberg is begging Aussies to not let it happen.

In a video filmed on the golf course itself, the Deepwater Horizon actor acknowledges he is not an Australian citizen but is nonetheless "pleading" with those who are to "save Moore Park Golf Club.

"It's been here for over 100 years, it's been giving people hundreds and hundreds of years of pleasure and joy," he said. "Just people being able to come out and get a nice healthy walk, spend quality time together with family and friends.

"Please, I've seen lots and lots of parks and I haven't seen too many lovely public golf courses like this that have access for everybody. Please save Moore Park Golf Club."

The actor is currently Down Under to film his new crime series Play Dirty and is one of Hollywood's elite who is known to be a lover of Australian shores, having brought his famous burger chain Wahlburgers here in 2021.
