The 45-year-old gave a surprisingly cheeky response when asked about the flashy bling, which is rumoured to be worth up to $16 million. Watch her joke with Reuters about being "insulted" above.

She brought out the "funny Mariah" again for another chat with E! News, telling them the ring is "so heavy I can't lift my arm up".

Mariah, who's on the promo trail for her upcoming Sweet, Sweet Fantasy European and South African tour, is obviously head over heels for her Aussie billionaire beau.

The pair stepped out with THAT ring at the G'Day USA gala in Los Angeles last week, just days after James, 48, popped the question in New York.
