Celebrity chef Maggie Beer injured after suffering a fall at home
Celebrity chef and culinary icon Maggie Beer has suffered injuries in a fall, her family have revealed.
The 79-year-old was at home when the incident took place.
Her family confirmed that Beer suffered "minor bone fractures and related injuries", but is on the mend.

"Hello Friends, It's Maggie's family here. Just writing to let you know that following a fall at her home, she's unfortunately suffered a couple of minor bone fractures and related injuries," the statement read.
"Thankfully Col, her husband, was there and she is now in the excellent hands of her doctors who are confident she will make a full recovery.
"It may just take a little while."

The family explained that Beer wanted to tell her fans that she might have to cancel some of her upcoming appearances due to the incident - and that she hopes they understand.
"More than anything else, Maggie hates letting people down. But she has multiple events and public engagements coming up that she may have to miss," the statement continued.
"She has asked us to apologise on her behalf to all those affected - and has asked for your patience as she recuperates. Thank you for your understanding -The Beer Family."
Maggie and Col live in the idyllic wine region, the Barossa Valley, in South Australia.
Fans and industry names have sent their well-wishes to the food icon.
Nigella Lawson wrote on the post: "Sending all my love <3."
Chef Matt Moran added: "Thinking of Colin and Ellie and the family. Get better gorgeous beautiful lady <3."
Beer is one of Australia's top chefs and authors who was given the Legend Award at the Good Food Guide Awards 2019. In 2010, she was awarded the Senior Australian of the Year.
