Madonna says it's a 'miracle' she's alive after health scare: 'Saved my life'

Madonna has admitted it's a it's a 'f--king miracle' she's alive, after being hospitalised with a "serious bacterial infection" earlier this year.

The hitmaker, 65, took to the stage at the Barclays Center on Saturday night as part of her tour when she addressed the crowds and mentioned her health scare.

According to Page Six, she said: "The fact that I'm here right now is the f--king miracle."

"There are some people in this room tonight that were with me in the hospital."

The Vogue singer said a woman named Siobhan "saved [her] life."

"There is one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital… I passed out on my bathroom floor and I woke up in the ICU," she said.

In June, Madonna's manager revealed he had been hospitalised with a "serious bacterial infection", forcing the megastar to postpone her world tour.

A statement shared by her talent manager Guy Oseary to his Instagram page said: "On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.

"Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

"At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

"She had been putting in 12-hour days," a source told Page Six of the time leading up to Madonna being found unresponsive.

"She was strenuously rehearsing and putting in the work."

Another source also told the outlet that Madonna was rushed to a hospital in New York City where she was intubated and placed in the Intensive Care Unit after being found unresponsive.
