Lori Loughlin speaks about forgiveness in first interview since 2019 college admissions scandal

Lori Loughlin has given her first major interview since her involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

She and her husband Mossimo Giannulli had pled guilty to conspiracy charges after securing admission to the University of Southern California for their daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli as part of the university's rowing team, despite neither of them being involved in the sport.

In an interview with First For Women, Loughlin did not directly address the scandal but did speak about her opinion on forgiveness.

"I try to be a forgiving person," she said.

"I'm not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone. We've all been in positions to ask for forgiveness but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too."

She also shared her advice on overcoming big life challenges.

"As an actress, I hear 'no' a lot, so I just have to be myself and persevere and try not to let in negativity," she shared.

"My advice is to just keep moving forward. Everyone has good times and bad times. That's life.

"I think you just have to pick yourself up. Nobody said life was going to be a breeze. There's beauty in life, but there's also hardship in life."

Loughlin ultimately served two months in jail, paid a $US150,000 ($AUD230,000) fine and completed 150 hours of community service for her part in the crime, while her husband was sentenced to five months, fined $USD250,000 (approx. $383,000) and ordered to serve 250 hours of community service.
