Lily-Rose Depp and Timothée Chalamet's relationship timeline

So are they or aren't they dating? That is the question.

Lily-Rose Depp and Timothée Chalamet have been linked since July 2018 when they began filming the upcoming Netflix movie The King, which is based on a series of plays from William Shakespeare.

But now Depp — the 20-year-old daughter of Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp — and Chalamet, 23, have seemingly confirmed they are indeed an item after sharing a passionate kiss in Italy following the Venice Film Festival. 

Here is a breakdown of their rumoured romance, from first sightings to steamy kisses...

June 2018: Depp and Chalamet first meet when filming begins for The King, which is shot in various locations throughout the UK and Hungary. In the movie — which also stars Aussie actor Joel Edgerton — Chalamet plays King Henry V aka Hal, a young man who ascends to the throne after the death of his father. Depp plays the queen consort and the king's wife, Catherine of Valois. 

September 2018: One month after filming wraps on The King, a fans catches the co-stars going for a romantic stroll in New York City's Central Park. It's at this point that romance rumours between the pair begin. 

October 2018: Depp and Chalamet are again seen in New York, this time kissing in the rain. Around the same time, the lovebirds are spotted grabbing dinner at Blue Ribbon Chicken on the Lower East Side.

Fans also see the new couple arm-in-arm outside a coffee shop, getting their caffeine fix.

December 2018: The couple spend the Christmas holidays in Paris, France. Both have ties to the country — Depp's mum Vanessa Paradis is a French singer, model and actress, while US-born Chalamet's father is also from France. 

January 2019: Chalamet attends the Golden Globes in LA and is quizzed about his budding relationship with Depp. When Access Hollywood asks him if he will be meeting Depp later in the evening, he coyly replies, "I'm here with my mum."

The reporter then bluntly asks the actor if "Lily makes you speechless," and he replies, "Yeah." 

September 2: The King makes its debut at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. The couple walk the red carpet together but keep their distance. Still ,their chemistry is undeniable and every now and then the pair glance each other's way and share a knowing look.

September 7: The co-stars enjoy some downtime from promoting their new film. They take a fun boat ride in Capri, Italy, and are later seen sharing a steamy makeout session on board.
