Actress Lily James makes no mention of Dominic West PDA photos in first interview since controversy
After cancelling two appearances in the past week following the PDA controversy involving her married co-star Dominic West, actress Lily James has fronted the media, but she barely fronted the music.
The 31-year-old appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon via Zoom yesterday evening and made no mention of the scandal, in which she was photographed looking cosy with her The Pursuit of Love co-star on the streets of Rome last week.
James — who cancelled virtual appearances on the US Today show and The Graham Norton Show earlier this week — was happy to promote her new movie Netflix movie, Rebecca, appearing in good spirits as she chatted about it with host Jimmy Fallon.

"My whole life I've had these reoccurring nightmares where a dark figure walks towards me and, like, leans over me," James said of the movie, a romantic thriller about a newlywed who is haunted by her husband's dead first wife.
"I wake up screaming. And it goes into my consciousness, and whoever I've been with will be like, 'It's OK, Lily, it's OK.'"
While James put on a brave face during her interview — as did West's wife Catherine FitzGerald, who smiled for the cameras with her husband outside their UK home one day after the photos were published by the Daily Mail — it appears it's a different story behind the scenes.

"Dominic and his wife wanted to put up a united front," a source told Us Weekly of the couple's surprise appearance outside their home, but FitzGerald and James "were both horrified by the pictures". What's more, the source added that the scandal has "strained Lily and Dominic's working and personal relationship too".
James and West are set to appear together on-screen in the British series, The Pursuit of Love. The pair also previously starred alongside each other in the play Othello back in 2011.
