Pop star Lily Allen has touched on her reported split from Stranger Things star David Harbour in a candid new interview as she braces for her musical comeback.

The Not Fair singer, 40, told Perfect Magazine "Two people who were once together are not together. And that's really sad ... It's hard for me to not have my person, you know?"

Allen also commented on the dating scene right now following her marriage breakdown, saying it's incredibly difficult.

The mother of two, who shares Marnie, 12, and Ethel, 13, with ex-husband Sam Cooper, admitted it's hard dating as a single mother.

"The dating scene is much harder as a 40-year-old woman with two teenage children than it is for a 34-year-old woman. It's bitterly disappointing," she told the publication.

Allen, known for hits including Smile and Hard Out Here, married actor Harbour back in 2020 in Las Vegas.

Six months ago, Harbour, in an interview with GQ, had a rather interesting response when the subject of his personal life and relationship was raised.

"I'm protective of the people and the reality of my life," he said.

"There's no use in that form of engaging [in tabloid speculation] because it's all based on hysterical hyperbole."

It came after Allen broke her silence after checking into a treatment centre amid split rumours.

She made her comments on her BBC podcast, Miss Me?

"I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed," she said.

"I went into a sort of treatment center for a few weeks, which was great.

"I did a lot of group therapy and some individual therapy and I just, I needed some time and space away from everything.

"And I did a lot of shadow work ... inner child stuff ... it was not easy by any stretch and it's a lifelong journey of healing. But I've started mediating [and] that's really helping me."

Allen previously revealed she was taking a break from her podcast, admitting at the time that she was "not in a good place" mentally.

"There will be speculation, because of the amount of time that I'm going to be taking away, that I'm going to drug rehab, and I'm not. I've not relapsed."
