Lenny Kravitz’s rep responds to viral rumour he died in tragic Florida jet crash
Rocker Lenny Kravitz was not on board the Learjet 60 business jet that crashed in Florida on Sunday US time, despite viral rumours.
A rep for the 62-year-old musician clarified that any rumours that he was on board the fatal flight are “untrue and incorrect” in a statement to People.

The Bahamas-bound Learjet crashed into a mobile home park in South Florida, killing all nine people on board.
As details about the crash started to emerge, rumours started that the Are You Gonna Go My Way singer was one of the passengers on board.
Rumours that he was on board the jet went viral on X after a female pilot, who was wrongly identified as the one flying the doomed jet, posted about taking Kravitz on a similar route in the months before the accident.
“Honoured to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin-Bergstrom International Airport] to [North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas] tomorrow. Looking forward to having him on board,” a screenshot of Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton’s since-deleted Facebook post read.
“’It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’ is gonna be playing in the cockpit 💃 🎶.”
The post was resurfaced in the wake of the crash on X and fans immediately assumed that both Kravitz and Shelton had died in the accident.
While the rocker’s team have shut down any rumours that he was involved, Shelton has also spoken out about the accident.
“I was recently made aware that there are rumours that I was the pilot of the recent crash in Palm Beach,” she wrote on TikTok Sunday.
“I would like to respectfully clarify I was not. I ask that people please stop speculating and spreading misinformation on this tragedy and be respectful of those involved.
“My heart goes out to all those lost and affected.”

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) gave an update on Monday (Tuesday AEDT) about the Learjet crash on Sunday.
Officials say two of those on board the aircraft were flight crew and seven were passengers.
Camila Corteleti told the New York Post and New York Times that her daughter, Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, was the co-pilot flying the Learjet from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas, when it crashed and exploded near West Palm Beach.
Filgueiras was heard on air traffic radio shouting “Mayday” as the Learjet plummeted to the ground.
The plane descended 27,000 feet over the course of one minute, just before flight tracking data cut off, the website ADS-B Exchange shows.
