Lea Michele escapes for spa weekend on anniversary of Cory Monteith's death

It's been one year since Cory Monteith's tragic death and former girlfriend Lea Michele chose to spend the sad day with those closest to her… including new boyfriend Matthew Paetz.

The group packed up over the weekend and headed to the San Ysidro Ranch resort in Montecito, California.

"She was in Los Angeles when she got the news that Cory died," a source told E! News. "So she was not going to stay in LA over his anniversary."

According to the insider, Lea and her crew had a great time relaxing and hanging out at the luxury hotel spa.

Umm… We guess everyone has their own way of grieving?

To her credit, the 27-year-old took some time out of her getaway to pay tribute to her old flame and co-star by tweeting a heartfelt message.

"We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always," she wrote alongside a photo of her and Cory.

The 31-year-old Glee actor passed away on July 13, 2013 after an overdose of heroin and alcohol.

While she has not forgotten her late beau, Lea is moving on with new boyfriend Matt.
