Lara Worthington joined a horde of confused fans as her husband's latest achievement was announced.
Sam Worthington's yet-to-be released film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, has received a Golden Globes nomination for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Underneath a post from the official Avatar and 20th Century Studios Instagram accounts celebrating the film's latest achievement, the Aussie sweetheart, 38, joined a horde of fans in their confusion about how an unreleased film can achieve box office success.

"Box office achievement?? The movie isn't [even] out yet !!!" wrote the model and actress.
"It's not out yet…. What if it flops????" another fan asked.
"Golden Globes are now seeing the future?" one added.

Fans on X, formerly Twitter, also had some choice words about the nomination.
"In what dimension is this already out? my calendar says I've got to wait another two weeks to see it," one fan shared.
"I know the Golden Globes' Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award is nonsense pandering and we're just meant to acknowledge this and move on, but how can they nominate 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' when it hasn't made any money yet?" another said.
The third installment in the Avatar series will be released on December 19, but it still meets the requirements of the Golden Globes' Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category because "films that are released after November 22 may qualify based on projected box office performance and/or streaming views from recognized industry sources," as per the official Golden Globes website.
There is good reason for the gamble, with the first Avatar film in 2009 grossing over $US2.9 billion (approx. $4.3 billion) worldwide, with the 16-year-old film remaining the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Its 2022 sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, earned over $US2.3 million (approx, $3.4 million) worldwide, with the third film expected to be just as lucrative.
The award category itself is fairly new, having only been introduced in late 2023.

The first winner was the smash hit Barbie, which won in the 2024 awards, while Wicked took the prize home in 2025.
The latest Avatar installment is up against some stiff competition, with F1, KPop Demon Hunters, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2 joining it in the running.
