Kylie Minogue addresses engagement rumours in emoji-filled tweet

After days of speculation as to whether Kylie Minogue is in fact engaged to her beau Paul Solomons, the singer took to Twitter to address the rumours.

In an emoji-filled tweet, the Australian pop icon revealed she is not planning on walking down the aisle just yet with the GQ creative director.

"We ALL love LOVE but rumours are getting out of hand!," Minogue told fans, before clarifying in no uncertain terms: "We are [loved up] but not [engaged]."

The rumours first started swirling after actress Billie Piper called Solomons the singer's fiancé in a piece she wrote for Elle UK, published on Thursday.

"Later, I'd find out his name is Paul, like my dad. He's Welsh, works at GQ and will, in time, become a dear friend, a blinding success and Kylie Minogue's fiancé," she wrote, sparking a frenzy of engagement rumours.

Shutting down the notion, a spokesperson for Minogue told The Sun, "It's not true. They are happy as they are".

Although the singer's reps denied the news, confusion sprung when Solomons's step-mother seemed to confirm the rumours by publicly congratulating the couple on their upcoming nuptials.

"She's very nice. I'm thrilled they're engaged. It's very exciting. But, I'm sorry, I cannot tell you any more because I've been told not to. I respect my son and I respect Kylie too much to say any more," Solomons' stepmother Gloria, told the Daily Mail.

As the reports gained traction across the weekend, the singer decided to 'Say Something' and quash speculation once and for all.

Minogue, 52, has been dating Solomons, 46, since 2018 after the pair were introduced by mutual friends soon after the singer's engagement to actor Joshua Sasse ended in February 2017.

Minogue previously dated Andrés Velencoso, French actor Olivier Martinez, late INXS star Michael Hutchence and former Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan.
