Kylie Minogue is always full of surprises, and now she's announced her first-ever US residency.

The Aussie popstar, 55, will perform a string of shows as the inaugural headliner at theatrical venue Voltaire, which sits inside The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, beginning in November.

"Today is the day where it all becomes, beautifully real," Minogue said at the Los Angeles event on Thursday, as per Entertainment Weekly.

"So to finally be able to say yes, I am doing a show in Vegas and to be at Voltaire at the Venetian Resort, it's just, it's such a good match," Minogue said.

"I couldn't be more excited."

The star's residency will kick off on November 3, soon after the release of her 16th studio album Tension, and tickets will be made available from August 9.

In a statement, the Padam Padam singer explained she felt very connected to the venue, despite her nerves over its 1,000-seat capacity.

Minogue assured fans the set-up was designed in a way that would make for an incredible experience.

"The creative team has designed an environment where people can get up and dance at their tables and revel in the night – that's what my music is for," she said.

"I love performing in all sorts of venues. It can be huge, tiny, and this is somewhere not in the middle, but I think it's got scale enough that you're gonna feel like you are sharing this moment with enough people, but also there's that exclusivity.
