Kevin Costner reveals what he'll 'never ever forget' about his late The Bodyguard co-star Whitney Houston 10 years on from her death

Kevin Costner has fondly remembered his late The Bodyguard co-star Whitney Houston, 10 years on from her death. 

Speaking to People magazine, the actor said that some moments in the film just live on forever — and he believes Houston had one of those moments while filming the iconic movie back in 1993. 

"When movies are working at their very best, they're about moments and images that you'll never ever forget," he told the outlet.

Kostner particularly spoke of the scene which featured Houston singing the movie's theme song, 'I Will Always Love You'.

In the film, she played superstar singer Rachel Marron, who Costner's character Frank Farmer was assigned to look after. The pair fall in love knowing their romance is ill-fated and the theme song was born. 

"I don't think we'll ever forget when that little song came out, that she just blew up. She sang the first part of it a cappella and musically the world was never the same," he said.

"We have a moment of her in that movie we'll never ever forget that and I think that when movies are working at their best, that's what can happen."

Costner and Houston remained good friends in the many years after production. And in 2012, when the singer died tragically, it was the actor who delivered a moving eulogy at her funeral. The coroner later determined Houston's cause of death to be an accidental drowning.

"You sang the whole damn song without a band. You made the picture what it was," he said of the film during his eulogy.

"A lot of leading men could've played my part … but you, Whitney, I truly believe you were the only one who could've played Rachel Marron at that time. You weren't just pretty, you were as beautiful as a woman could be. And people didn't just like you Whitney, they loved you."
