Katy Perry confirms she is pregnant with first child with Orlando Bloom in Instagram Live video

Katy Perry has announced in an Instagram Live video that she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting a baby.

The news confirms the suspicions of fans who noticed the singer appeared to cradle a baby bump in a teaser for her new music video 'Never Worn White'.

Minutes after she dropped the video on YouTube on Thursday afternoon Australian time, the 35-year-old confirmed she was indeed pregnant.

In an Instagram video Q&A, Perry told fans the pregnancy was "probably the longest secret" she has "ever had to keep".

In the live stream, she also teased a new project was on the way. 

"There's a lot that will be happening this summer, not only will I be giving birth — literally — but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for," she said, referring to her upcoming album. 

"There will be a lot more releasing than music."

Veering back to the baby topic, Perry said she was excited for the pending arrival as her brother had also recently had a baby.

"So many children in my family now," she gushed. 

Perry announced her engagement to Bloom in early 2019 after the pair dated on and off for three years.

This will be the second marriage for both stars. Perry was married to actor Russell Brand between 2010 and 2012, while Bloom was previously married to Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. The couple share nine-year-old son Flynn Christopher Bloom.
