Kathy Griffin shaves her head in solidarity of sister's cancer battle
Kathy Griffin has undergone a total transformation, and it's for a cause close to her heart.
On July 31, new photos of the actress and comedian, 56, appeared on social media, revealing she had shaved off her signature red hair. According to a message from Twitter user Yashar Ali, she'd done so to support her sister Joyce Griffin, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
In one image, Kathy appears topless as she smiles proudly in what looks like a backyard. In a second photo, her mum Maggie Griffin looks on in shock as she touches her daughter's peach fuzz.
"This AM my brave brother Gary Griffin passed away in palliative care after a brutal struggle w cancer. Our last real conversation, w my brother I loved so much, was just a few days go when I got him this signed picture from his idol, @JoeWalsh. He loved the Eagles, 70s rock, The Chicago White Sox and the Xavier 'muskies'... Oh & he was funny as sh*t," she wrote.

It wasn't revealed what type of cancer Joyce has, but it appears she has the full love and support of her family.
Kathy's big change comes after a maelstrom of controversy in May, when she posed for a magazine cover with a fake severed head modeled in the likeness of US President Donald Trump. Kathy later apologised and begged fans for forgiveness.
